Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure [REVIEW]

… She’s back! The indescribable, the iconic, THE #1 Prima Donna… SHARPAY EVANS. Ashley Tisdale assumes her most famous onscreen persona one last time in the upcoming Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure, available on Blu-Ray and DVD TOMORROW (Tuesday, April 19th). Thanks to our good friends at Disney, MissTisdale was able to enjoy an advance copy of the infamous High School Musical character’s solo effort!

Viewers last saw Sharpay resolved to reside near East High to assist Ms. Darbus with the drama department (much to the chagrin of arch-nemesis Tiara Gold). Well make no mistake about it- that gig (although dutifully fulfilled!) falls to the wayside in favor of bright lights and a big city. She told us she wanted bigger and better- and that’s just what Sharpay goes after in the follow up spin-off.

What to expect? Obviously laughs- Ashley takes Miss Evans to a new level with even more sharp one-liners (go ahead and even try and attempt to ask the bubbly blonde to fly coach and see the hilarity that ensues!) but an unexpected and expertise turn at genuine depth and emotional range. Dual serving as both star and executive-producer, Tisdale channels raw thespian roots with the quiver of a lip, a wistful twinkle of the eye and a command in vocals with an unfaltering powerhouse balled and self-proclaimed  personal favorite in “New York’s Best Kept Secret” (One may be reminded of “What If” off Tisdale’s sophomoric studio album effort, Guilty Pleasure). Fans will be delighted to watch as Tisdale effortlessly maneuvers through the role of Sharpay with candid ease.

There IS a cameo from a former High School Musical co-star [4.30 UPDATE: The apparent DVD cameo is not from Lucas Grabeel as previously reported. He is featured in the exclusive Disney Channel version of the film], six all new original songs and TONS of behind-the-scenes footage including:
• BLOOPERS (on Blu-ray & DVD) – Ashley Tisdale and the cast cut up on set.
• AUSTIN CAM (on Blu-ray & DVD) – Actor Austin Butler, who plays student filmmaker Peyton, not only shoots scenes needed for the movie, but takes his camera behind the scenes to see how Ashley Tisdale has fun between takes.
• THE EVOLUTION OF SHARPAY (on Blu-ray only) – Ashley Tisdale traces the development of her bigger-than-life character from the High School Musical movies through her current movie.
